'01 XC 200 diary

Here's a on going record of buying and dialing in of an older dirt bike. I posted this over on a general interest m/c forum, mostly older guys. But some less experienced or non hard core guys on this forum might be able to relate as well.

Hope the link to another forum is permissible here.

Thanks Barossi. I've got my 200 dialed in, now I need to get out and ride. It's been wet this winter in my area of Florida. My regular riding area is now water front property ,ie: swamp.

Great thread! I've really enjoyed my 200, and am currently on the fence about selling it. I've ordered a new Beta Xtrainer, but I may hang on to the EC....it never hurts to have a spare.

I'm in AK now, but most of the riding I've done has been in my home state Michigan. The motorcycle only trail system is fantastic, if you ever get the chance I recommend riding in the Marquette, MI area.

Read it start to finish and really enjoyed it! Ive just done a mini refresh on my 250. Ive had no probs with my clutch but your build thread made me think maybe I should change the clutch fluid in master cylinder, it didnt even cross my mind!

Thanks. I'd keep the GG. It'll be a good stable mate to the Beta, I'll bet.

I've done the Lewiston ride 3 times now, My group of friends in Ohio have been doing the same ride for 30 yrs, same weekend , same motel (or lodge) same trails, so I go where they go. But I've had other people mention the Marquette trails as well. You never know, I might get to check it out one day.

You did a good job documenting bringing your '99 back to life too. I enjoyed following along.

Thanks. I have learned (or been reminded of) a lot by reading this forum.
It's good to hear I've passed something on to someone else.
