kickstart Shaft
 

Hi all. Fitted a new Kickstart shaft today as it had snapped , everything working fine with the cover off but when i put the cover back on the kickstart has gone pretty tight and doesnt spring return. after taking the cover back off to have a look i can see witness marks on the lip on the shaft. Has anyone had this issue?

Bike is a 2015 EC 250. im probably just going to see if it beds in. but if anyone has any other advice i would be greatful

There is a notch in the plastic internal guide for the spring you probably have not got it lined up. It does not need to bed in, it should snap back to position if it is assembled correctly.

It snaps back to position without the case on. And when the case is put on it goes stiff. There are witness marks on the shaft where it goes from a smaller diameter to a larger diameter where its rubbing on the casing. It's got looser already after 1 ride mind
