British Columbia riders!
I think all the BC riders should get together and go for a gasgas ride. So lets hear some ideas.
I think a Pacific Northwest ride would be even better. BC, Alberta, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, etc. Picking time/location might be difficult.
Please include Nevada.
Works for me, but I was thinking Washington might the logical (ie. central) choice for a ride. Though up here in BC we do have some epic singletrack that would for an unbelievable ride.
Would people be willing to travel to the Okanagan (say, Kelowna) for a GasGas ride? If we had enough people interested we could make this a pretty cool event. If there's interest I could talk to GasGas Pacific/Okanagan Motorsports about a demo ride. What's everyone think? |
As long as nothing i cant get out of conflicts with the date i would be there.
Sounds good to me.
Kelowna's only a 45 minute drive from my house in Summerland ;) , so count me in. I probably can even offer garage space, bed-roll space, and trails right from the house. Did I mention the hot tub and beer fridge?
There are at least two more (very good) GG riders here in the Summerland/Penticton area. Dale |
Cool guys. What dates work for you guys? I'm thinking we should do this ride in May/June or late September/October to avoid the hot weather and dust. I'm pretty busy with racing but depending on the weekend I may be able to make it.
When you get a date I may be able to come also!
my son and I would go to the Kelowna area providing you can still get through (back through!!) the border without passports as that wouldn't fit into the budget. He has wrestling and football camps that start the week before and end the week after 4th of July (+/-) plus we do a boat poker run the first weekend of August at Lake Roosevelt and Spokane River area.. anybody have a boat,, come on down!
OK, so you asked what weekends are open, just adding my 2 cents. Jeff '00 XC250 '04 EC250 |
I would go for a late september because i will have the money and time then.
You just need photo ID and a birth certificate to get through the border.
I have a passport so i'm good to go. Set the date so i can put it on the calendar.
Well, I can't make it May 17/18 (PN race), May 31/June 1 (Idaho City 100 - tentative), June 21/22 (Corner Grass in Alberta), June 28/29 (Monkeywrench in Lytton), July 26/27 (Grizzly ISDE), August ~20th to mid-September (ISDE in Greece and maybe Romaniacs), September 21 (3 Worlds CC in Kamloops) and October 5 (Tree Hugger in Castlegar).
So, what weekends don't work for other people? I propose September 26-28 as a tentative date for this ride. The weather will have hopefully cooled off and given us some moisture so trail conditions should be good. What do you guys think? |
The date will never be good for everyone so just set it.
That date sounds good to me.
Just noticed this post.
I may be able to swing this date, no races that weekend. Don't know if I can get the time off to drive 6 + hours and 550 miles from my place. A very busy and expensive year for me.... unsure. Roscoe |
I'll pick you up on the way.
The only issue with September 26-28 is there's an Okanagan Hare Scrambles Series race that weekend which may effect getting local riders. I'm not doing that series this year so it works fine for me.
d2w, cactusreid, what's your guys opinion? |
Nothing on okanagan trail riders about any events that weekend so that is a plus. I will certainly be attending regardless of date.
The hare scramble is on the 28th (Sunday) in naramata, but hopefully shouldn't affect too many. Especially for Saturday riding! :D |
i just spotted this thread,i'll keep an eye on the dates and see if i can make it.i'm in kamloops b.c.
So? Did the ride take place? Let's hear about it!
I sure hope some people got out ridding together. I wish i could have come.
