Stupid Question? Rev Limit?

Hi everyone,

Have got my bike jetted perfectly and crisp at the moment, but have noticed if I get too excited in 1st/2nd and break it loose that I hit what seems to be a rev limit. It almost sounds like a 4 stroke limiter. I was under the impression that 2 strokes just stopped making power and signed off?

This almost feels like its become really rich and won't rev past. Every other gear it just keeps pulling from woe to go. I think I might have to just learn to change quicker :P

Whats everyone elses experiences with such things?

Sounds like the limiter to me.

My 2T does not have any sort of rev limiter. I rode a friends EC300 that was rich on the jetting and it behaved as you described. Perhaps if you check your pug you will find out if you are rich or lean on the main.

rich jetting or possibly advanced timing will do that. there is no rev limiter.

Thats what I thought. Theres not electronic limiter. But what does it sound like when they hit the limits.

I have done plug chops and they seem fine. Plus other gears just keep on pulling and pulling.

I might try another chop on the main but i doubt this is it. The whole setup is on the leaner side of things compared to everyone else already.

Most two stroke CDIs just retard themselves at a very high RPM so it acts as a rev-limiter.
