is there a master link?

when i was putting on my case saver, i thought taking the chain off might have helped, but i cant for the life of me find a master link. searched both sides of the chain.
one link has a red stripe on it, but i cant see how it would come loose.
is there a master link on the stock chain?

Nope, stock chain has a rivet link.

most new bikes these days do not come with master links. One less thing to break .... one less thing to get sued over. To get the stock chain off you have to grind a link or remove the swing arm. If you know who made the chain you might be able to get a master link so you can still use the stocker if oyu cut it while it wa still good. However not all master links are the same. Gotta match the chain ... otherwise it won't work.

sad thing is you are probably right skid, lawsuits ruin it for the rest of us!
heck, id have been more worried about the shin killing, radiator crushing auto kickstand. (did the mod to mine yesterday!)
aftermarket chains still come with a ml i hope.
yeah, i tried to use tha master off my xr250 on my xr350, it was a few thousandths of an inch different, but enough to be incompatible.

My stock chain was a regina o-ring and I just purchased a clip link. The chain said regina right on it.
