Roll Call: Desert 100
 

Alright guys, who's thinking of going? It's a little over 2 months until race day.

After crashing out of the top 100 last year, I'm training my butt off for it this year. My goal is to get at least in the top 100, preferably in the top 50. Should be tough as I'm not a desert rider, but if I'm in shape it should be doable.

I'm hoping to go down Friday night or early Saturday morning, hang out and enjoy the weekend then punish myself with the Desert 100 on Sunday. It'd be great to meet a bunch of other GasGas riders there.

So, who's going?

I am going to try to make it. Then to BC for Maylong( not to race just ride) and then the Funky Chicken in June. I keep meaning to start training, maybe next week.

Steve, the kid and I will be there again. We'll be there Friday noon-ish in about the same spot as last year.. where you parked. We'll stick around and give you support race day if you come empty handed again. He broke his radius and ulna 4 spots total first of January. 60 staples, 2 plates, 16 screws but doc says he should be good to go by then. He's a big strong kid. Good thing it was wrestling, not riding. The wife would have killed me:D
See you there.. and all the other Gassers hopefully. It is usually pretty lonely there for us Gassers (except for the other 4,000 people).

Well Steve it looks as if I may be able to swing it this year.
The Sparkplug Enduro and Dez 100 dates usually conflict and since enduro is my passion it always wins in a tie. But this year the Sparkplug falls the Sunday before.
I will know for sure as we get closer to the date. I will keep you informed.

Sounds good guys. I got my ass kicked at an endurocross demo on the weekend (Vancouver M/C show) but it's good motivation to get ready for the race season. Hope to se you guys there!

Is this the race on 4-4, otherwise known as stumpjumpers 100?, out by vantage/ellensburge, is so i'll be there.

Several years ago, yes. It has moved to Odessa, a little farther east and north. Actually the poker run is 4/4, the race is on sunday 4/5. I got the motorhome pried out from the icy grips of what is left of our snow today. (my info says Spokane but I'm actually a ways north) Fired up the furnace and started the clean-up. Also had a buddy over to help winch out the bike trailer from the drift it was buried in. What a crazy winter it has been around here!

Watch for a mid 70's (ugly) Dodge motorhome, GG sticker in the rear window and 2 GG bikes. Stop by and say hi!

You don't have to do the race, I did the 75 mile Poker Run last year and had a blast!
If you have really big balls, you can do the Poker run on Saturday and Race on Sunday.
