RIP Nicky Hayden

For those that follow other motorcycle racing, Nicky Hayden was hit by a car last week while bicycle training near the Misano race circuit in Italy.

Nicky was one of the classiest racers to ever race. He gave it his all, never complained about anyone - not race officials, not shortcomings in the bike, or other racers.

He always represented the sport and his sponsors with the highest respect and dignity.

Thoughts and prayers to the Hayden family.

This article linked above made me tear up. I'm already a big sissy, but I held it together until I read Jules' article.

God speed to a generous, honest, and true human being who happened to race (and win on) a motorcycle at the highest level.

I roadraced for many years before racing hare scrambles. This man was a true ambassador for the sport of motorcycle racing. Classier and more talented than I could ever hope to be.

I too am shocked and saddened to hear of Nicky's death. He was a true champion in every sense of the word and a great ambassador for motorcycle racing. Rest in peace Nicky.

R.I.P. Nicky Hayden
last week was a crappy week, for sure...
with Hayden's passing, the terror attack in UK, and all the rest of the political crap here in the US...
one must wonder what Nicky is seeing in the future for us all here, from his new perspective from above...
the services for him were damb touching this past weekend...
we are living in a sad time, unfortunately...
I wonder what things happening in Europe will have an effect on our sport in the coming years ...
