2018 KYB AOS Fork Free Piston
 

Getting ready to change oil and re-spring forks on my '18. Are the free pistons in the inner cartridge the cheap plastic pistons known to crack/break? If so, I plan on purchasing the aluminum pistons to replace them before the tear down.

I wouldn't bother replacing them mate. If you have the plastic pistons just drill them to relieve any pressure build up. End result is the same as most steel ones aren't sealed anyway.

My 2018 GP came already drilled from the factory.


115hrs so far, 1top end at 90hrs,shock and fork service every 50 hrs.

Like a swiss watch........

Yep. They are already drilled with really big holes.
