The Bike is max 10%
I rode by myself an Amateur Enduro Race with my XL 250 from 1975 and I finished Second in the Classic class and 10th Overall.
Was much Fun but the honda is retiered now :D

Its definitely mostly the rider.. in saying that, if the rider is comfortable on a bike and the bike inspires confidence the rider will feed off this and also ride better. Great riders just seem to be able to find the confidence where lesser can't. Be it through great line selection, body position, or some other magical power. For me personally (someone who isn't great and isn't fast), I find I can push harder for longer on a well setup bike, where something thats not will beat me up and fatigue me sooner.
