Lean condition sounds right.
If the suggestions above don't fix the issue -> Depending on the amount of time on the bike, you might want to have a leak down test performed on the motor to ensure that you don't have a leaking crank seal.
Motion pro has a nice leak down tester - kinda expensive though...
