The GG clutch has an extra plate set and tends to drag with heavier oil, so we have found that a good, lightweight synthetic is best. The 0-40W Amsoil and Rotella 5-40W are the top choices. ATF works OK in a lot of bikes, but in my '03 it shifted a bit rough and generally felt a little thin. Never tried it in my '07. The trick is finding good lightweight oils without the friction modifiers. I think Amsoil also makes a heavier racing ATF that may be worth a shot, but considering the cost its hard to beat the Rotella for most bikes.
