I had some oversized, no crossbar handlebars on my 2001 xc300 for a couple seasons (test units for a company that didn't make it). They were OK, just fine. But I hated the BRP clamps and the clunky mounting hardware, especially when compared to the lovely OEM GG bar mounts. So, I went back to some nice ProTaper 7/8 bars, Reed/Henry bend. Vanity.
Funny thing I remember seeing posted somewhere...
"If you bent your fat bars, that's probably the least of your problems".
I like the idea of the Flexx bars, but... weight, cost, complexity, jagged pointy shape... all keep me away. But I know I should at least try them.
