The 300 GG 4T would be a good bike in that class but only in that class. There ain't no magic in the 4T world. That's why a 300cc 2T is the best of both worlds. At least in my very biased opinion.
I depends on the bike/rider and type of trails.

I have a 2009 Husky TXC 310(Athena kit on a 250) & consider it to be the best of both worlds in the 4t arena. Nimble 250 handling, with enough grunt to stay with a 250 2t & some 450s off a corner. I'm keeping this bike because it's so versatile.
The new TXC310 x-lights are even better with their lower weight & snappier power.

Hope to have my new GG 250 this week.
