I have owned both and prefer the 250. I have a friend who raced "AA" on a GG a few years ago and he had a 250 and a 300. He said he always felt that he was going faster on the 300 but his lap times were always better on the 250.
I have found the 250 easier to jet and it seems to run cooler than the 300 as well.
