I thinks it's just a name EC- enduro cross, XC- cross country.
Here in the UK that used to mean that the ec came with everything that made it road legal whereas the xc didn't have the indicators. But I'm pretty sure that they all come without the indicators now?
Just my thoughts im sure il be corrected by someone who actually knows the answer.
