i started with a 300 and ended up with a 250, i liked both bikes, but the 300 would be the best choice in my opinion.
im a bigger guy, and the 300 has so much grunt, its more like a 3stroke, its got all the bottom of a 4t ut zing like a 2t.
ive ridden almost all the gasser sizes and styles (ex trials and supermoto) and i honestly will only buy another brand (off road)bike of any size to make a profit, with the exception of my (future) cr500af.
you simply cannot go wrong with a gas gas**disclaimer- if you buy a hammered used bike, thats your fault
