You can run it this way but make sure you use the same thickness base gasket or slightly thicker. You do not want the new piston and ring running into the cylinder ridge.
A diamond hone used to finish size the plating will also remove the ridge and true the cylinder but you will need the larger piston.
Just to confirm, is the original piston and cylinder sized for a B piston?
