Well we bought a 2018 EC with about 90 hours 3992 km on it an it had only be ridden on the road with SM wheels. It looked new, but we still replaced the piston to be sure. First piston and still in good shape. These engines are very strong and as long you lubricate well the gasoline and gearbox and airfilters you can't go wrong. My 2009 EC 300 has the original clutch in and i am not shifting with the clutch up, and sometimes down.
In 10 years time still the first bottom end in with no worries.
