Style dependent no doubt. If your a heavy user or abuser, you may hear it. I only get a very slight squawk in VERY tight NJ trees where your at walking speed and slipping the clutch in second gear to control torque, and its hot out. This is murder on any clutch and what really kills the four stroke clutches. No damage and the oil isn't even that bad when its dropped. I'd be a little leary about drilling/cutting the basket and setting up stress points where a crack could start from. Like what Steve said these are the best clutches in the business.
