I have bounced my Gassers off the rev limiter many times, but only because shifting would be sketchy at best.

My 2000 EC/XC 300 has never been a rever. My 2005 EC300 was a screamer by comparison and more so on the dry ignition setting. With the higher compression on the cut head, the bike lost some revs, but gain so much power elsewhere that it doesn't matter.
