i almost never pull the carb. loosen clamps, rotate carb to remove top and slide. rotate carb the other way to remove bowl and access jets. sometimes the float pin will slide out so be careful.
also the drain/main jet cover sometimes hits the sprocket guard. i just twist harder
the rubber intake and airbox boot have enough give...
