I booted the stupid bulbous switch since I don't run any lights or use a horn. I installed a Fly Racing aluminum pushbutton switch for the starter and a simple kill switch as well.
Your wire descriptions were right on and made this dead bang simple.
My e-start switch had essentially quit working - now she lights right up.
