No I'm not kidding. Mine work OK at my level in the rocky trails here. I don't think they are any worse than any other open cartridge fork when set up correctly. Its when the speed picks up that they can't match a CC fork like the new 48mm Zokes or KYB SSS. Its a matter of opinion on what it truly "hash" and "plush". Honestly, for a true survival hell ride I'd choose my '07 over the '12 as its overall a more plush ride at lower speeds. The '12 is a better racer at higher speeds. At lower speeds you just feel a lot more but there is no deflection. I think I can fix that to a large extent now that I know the fork.
