Your post did give me a bit of nostalgia - there was a young woman I went to junior high school with - mid 1970s - she had an ossa phantom (might have been her dad's but she rode it - lucky girl). The ossa was very fast and very beautiful - when new... I think it had fiberglass fenders - which didn't hold up well...

I always liked that model bike. I had a '75 Pursang 250, & Montesa '76 VA 360, '77 VB 360 & still have a bought NIB '80 VF 414, but never had a chance to own a Phantom. Contrary to what my wife says, I couldn't own them all.
I heard, or more likely read, that they were light weight, fast & handled well, but a little fragile. Sounds a lot like the twin shock YZ 250 I had.
Too bad they couldn't make a go of it.
