I know its not chain slap and I know the side play in the main power valve flap [ move it side to side throught the pipe flange make the same slap noise ] preloading the valve has fixed my rattle 98% the other 2% is the flap movement that i will fix when I do a top end by making a lash washer [ see power valve strip down number 39 washer ] . this rattle only happens on part throttle transit sections where revs are steady and the valve is at rest on normal trails where the bikes braking traction the valve is moving all the time and is never at rest there is no rattle GOOD LUCK this issue has done my head in bike is heaps better now its be preloaded and awsome power delivey
