I don't know why yours would start hard, but I will say that my MC
always starts very easily, hot cold, after a crash. You've definitely got an issue. Obvious stuff would be check compression, timing, plug condition, jetting. Maybe something goofy in your stator causing weak spark?
I sure as heck wouldn't go to a 4T for easy starting...
