How come you're pulling the shock off?
Well, I found a manual on line for a 2003, had to pull the sides, air-box and drop the bone. this doesn't look like enough room to go out the right, may try that next time.

1) they have nothing on KTM on the side panels...plastic screws, really? the head came right off one without the screw coming out.

2) plastic adjuster ring for spring, really, steel or aluminum was too heavy? I could barely get the tool to bite on the slots to remove it. Is there a metallic replacement?

3) factory spring seems to have a smaller OD than the replacement Les T installed. He added some type of inserts into the end so that there is a flat surface for the spring to ride on both ends, did the factory setup? am I missing some bits.

G, why, I wanted to try the stock 5.2 spring. I just seem to ride better with a soft setup on the back. On the KTM with the 8.0 rear, Greg and Phillip just thrashed me, put on a 7.6 and next weekend I was keeping up. I know the numbers don't work out, but I think the results say otherwise. I surely didn't get better in one week
