The 2-stroke Pampera is a cool bike that does not hold up to abuse. My wife has a 2002 Pampera 280. Our friend Tami (5'2" about 125lbs) rides the same bike and has broken the frame in half, and the steering stem broke in August. They do not hold up to aggressive riding. However, you can take one anywhere if you ride slow enough not to break it.
Parts so far:
rear axle
cylinder head
rear brake caliper
brake pedal pivot (needs to be welded)
radiator support (welded)
carb (replaced with Keihin)
The suspension is great when your plonking around at 10-15 mph. Any faster and your going to beat up the bike and yourself. The thing is that the Pampera doesn't need tons of speed to go where big bikes fail. My wifes Pampera will sit in 1st gear at idle and just keep turning the rear tire over.
As an exploration bike, it's awesome. The tank limits your range, but my wife and I use 2 liter soda bottles to carry extra fuel in our backpacks.
