So far on my ec300 and rmz450 I've found the best thing to do is have a load of face shins and a small clamp.
On my kyb sss the previous owner had "flipped" the bleed (low speed compression) stack so it was bypassed, this is disgusting, unless you are riding at a toddler's pace through rock gardens it will make you use all your suspension too soon and make it too harsh for any high speed bumps you encounter. So anyway, I flipped mine back and stole an 11.26 to use as the clamp, along with 22x 32x11 face shims, she follows the track well but gives when you hit anything sharp.
