Just as and add to for future ref.

On earlier twist top carb bikes the motion pro 10-3000 can work but here's my take. Just fitted one and to avoid a tight bend onto the under of tank to carb, I removed the carb end locknut and screwed it fully home. I also added some sealer goob and a cable tie on the rubber fitting as Jake suggested.

This makes the bend agreeable. But then there is too much free play so using a maap torch heated the nipple and moved it about 12mm down. Either side, I did throttle end. Then I melted some plumbing solder (not normal 60/40 electrical) into a puddle in a piece of metal, a spot of flux and plunged it in so it flowed all over then removed and held still for quite some time.

Dress end on a grinder carefully holding cable and jobs a goodun.
