Josh,

Welcome to this site! I'm glad you did not get hurt. Regarding stuck throttles, I would say GG's are no more prone to it than other bikes. It's the same Keihin carb used other bikes.

If your bike has taller handlebars, the stock throttle cable (which is on the shorter side) could be getting pulled accidently. Many riders safety wire the cable where the rubber booty attaches to the throttle housing. This helps prevent the cable from getting pulled if a tree branch catches it.

You may also want to inspect the cable thoroughly where it exits the housing and enters the elbow attached to the carb cap. My old cable got corroded here and also frayed. It had the tendency to bind but never got stuck... luckily. I replaced my stock cable with an LTR throttle cable. This is a nice steel braided cable and is a couple inches longer. Great for taller handlebar setups.
