Help! Flywheel weight doesn't fit with 2k3 on 2003 EC250?
Is this normal? I think it's a 10oz or 12oz flywheel weight... I bought it from Go Fasters, it fit my MC250 with a 2k2 fine.
There isn't enough room behind the cover.... hmmmmm

At 60 and coming off of 4 strokes, I was hoping to add more weight to '03 ec250 too. Can U shim the cover out? Is that the problem?

Just measured it, it's about 11 oz's. Checked the MC, the 2k2 is much closer in (I knew this). The plastic cases are exactly identical on the two bikes.

Edit- Mine has a nut on the outside of it, if the nut was flush it would be close to fitting...

You should give Mark Berg from GoFasters a call and explain to him your problem. 320-839-7143
I'm considering a fly wheel weight too. I would like to know the out come of this.

It's not uncommon to need to shim out a cover for a flywheel weight. A half an inch seems excessive, but it wouldn't surprise me too much. A freind of mine once built a 22oz flywheel weight for his bike. He purchased a brand new flywheel cover and cut his old one off the amount he needed for a spacer, then used two gaskets, one on each side of the "spacer" and used longer bolts. Looked sano, and didn't leak.

I don't beleive those weights were ever intended to fit on a 2K-3 flywheel. The 2k-3 has close to double the inertia of the 2K-2 with a 12oz added. Consider a G2 throttle with a #400 cam if traction control is an issue.

I have a question sort of along these lines...I have a 2k-2 in my bike and I bough a 2k-3 to install from widebear. Just getting my parts list together to put a headlight and swap to the 2k-3...anyways.
I'm trying to determine if I got the flywheel as well. If you look at the following picture. http://www.gofasters.com/images/EC200_ignition-2006.jpg item #5 I have that complete assembly...is that outer piece that is closest to the case the flywheel?
