Voltage Regulator
I was hooking up lights on an 09 EC 250 that I purchased which appeared to have been previously lit up (wires for lights and brake light switch). The lights came on briefly then all the bulbs blew... Checked the voltage with a meter and when i rev'd the engine the voltage spiked to 18 V? I assume the voltage regulator must be bad or missing. I have the Race edition but I believe it came with a regulator. Can someone post a pic or tell me where the regulator is? I see what appears to be a CDI unit in the air box. Is the regulator on the frame somewhere?
Thanks. |

I have a regulator under the tank at the neck of the frame on my 2002 XC300. It's a simple regulator, but it keeps everything AC. I bought a Trail Tech regulator/rectifier to install, I just haven't made time. Look in the crook of the neck under the tank for a small box with a couple of wires sticking out. One of the wires should be yellow, IIRC.
