Default Guess who just bought a new Gasser?

A man of few words and very modest, so someone had to make this announcement. Drum roll please.....

Everyone please welcome the newest member to the model year 2015 club "Gas Gas Man" Girard Lall! Girard picked up his new 250 from our dealer Brian Storrie at SMS Racing in Denton TX. Thanks again Girard, but then again...we can't imagine you riding anything else!

Thumbs up

Thanks Rod.

The plan was to pick the bike up on the way to the Texas NEPG race.
That was a scratch due to the rain. So I drove up anyway- 4hrs later I picked up the bike.

While I was at the shop, they jettisoned the ISDE rear tire and put a Bridgestone on, free labor! Thanks to the guys at SMS Racing!

Headed home in some monsoon rain all the way home, return trip took 5 hrs.

Looked over the bike the next day. It is a beauty. Very well put together.
I'm still stunned at how well it looks. I thought my 2011 5 days looked good, no comparison. Putting the bike on the stand-feels like the same weight as my 2011 250.
Bike comes with a TrailTech computer, so I didn't have to buy an hour meter.

I swapped over my Fastway damper and Flexx bars. Threadlocked all the bolts. I moved the TrailTech over 1" to the right to clear the front brake hose. Adjusted the kickstand return spring to non-suicide mode.

My carb is the ASII model. Checked the jetting- 172 main and 42 pilot. OK there.
Motor runs very smooth, little vibrations. Shifting is notchy-that will clear up with some miles.
Motor bottom end is more compact than my '11 motor. Outer clutch covers have a nice smooth finish.

I'll be doing a shake down ride this weekend. I'll post some pics and impressions.

I'm excited.
Oh, this was a 50th birthday present to myself.

Awesome Girard! We need to come over and help you break that puppy in. Plus I'm overdue for some of those amazing wings...
