Default gasser 300 questions

I have more than a few questions, and I'll start by saying this is my friends bike, but he is internet illiterate..LOL!! anyway I talked him into buying a bike, it is a 1999 gasgas 300. and it is in pretty good shape. The springs are soft, so we are looking for springs, front and rear, the front has the old school zokes, and I know nothing about them other than they are really really soft, the rear is ohlins and just needs a heavier spring, but again I don't know what springs will cross over to it. He has a bracket for a kickstand, but no actual stand, we need one of them. It has a stator for lights, but again no headlight, we would like to wire one up on it. I looked at the parts fiches and can't find any that go back to 99. I know alot of the gasgas parts will interchange through the years, but don't know what will swap with what in this case. Thanks for the help. I will say this, I have a ktm 300 xc-w and I was real happy with the motor until I rode the gasgas..LOL!!! man that bike has a motor, and I really really like the 6 speed tranny, this 99 sets a bit to low for my height but I see the newer models are pretty comparible to all the other bikes in terms of seat height. I'm afraid to ride a new one, I can't afford another bike..LOL!! maybe next year!

I think you can order the right kickstand through any dealer. Maybe GoFasters can help.

Acerbis do a lot of universal headlights (with plastics and mounting - may be cheaper than a GG part. Worth a mention is my 2005 uses a halogen 35w car type bulb and the headlight is very good for an off road bike.

I can get a hebo light pretty cheap, I just don't know what wire to use?? or what color the headlight wire is, I have a voltage regulator from another bike I can use. If the side stands are all the same I will look for a used one, they look to be pretty expensive on the oem parts lists for the newer gassers. I called a couple suspension shops yesterday for fork springs and nobody seemed to know what the factory ones were, or anything about the forks that came on the 99's.

Did you try Les at LTR?

There are several "part out" threads in the for sale section. Maybe a kickstand there?

Found springs and a kickstand at a local delaership. Have to pick them up this weekend. Now if we can find out what wire to run a headlight off of we will be good to go for a while.
thanks
