Default What if......

ive been reading through some of my older dirtrider magazines, and i came across the 2008 December issue. in it they test the husaberg fe 450. now this got me to day dreaming.
What if they applied the same concept to a two stroke? what if gasgas did it to their 200, 250, and 300? say they keep the traditional motors, but also come out with the radical 70 degree motor? or something similar? it wouldnt be that hard to design, and look what it did to the handling of a big 4 stroke! imagine what it would do to a 2 stroke! make what is already great even better!
i just got to thinking and im wondering what you guys thought of it. regardless of cost, would you buy one? or am i just crazy and my idea wouldn't work. i dunno, it seems like a good idea to me, but im 17....

I'd be very interested. I don't know if it's worth $10000, but honestly, the Husaberg was a high cost bike to begin with.

I think it sounds fun.

Killer! I personally cannot wait to see innovation like that, especially from a company who previously only did valvers!!!

yea but you gotta admit, it would be cooler with an ec designation. and doing something major like that would be exactly what gasgas would need to get there name on the market in the united states, especially with e start. because quite frankly gasgas gets no recognition in the US, and they dont do a whole lot of advertising. but if they did something that changed offroad 2 strokes in a major way, and make it stick, they could very well dethrone the orange king of the 2 stroke market (wishful thinking eh?)

I'd call it sensible thinking. Gas Gas should hire you.

Gas Gas gets pretty good recognition around here I'd think. I see more Gas Gas bikes than I do Suzukis. Seriously.

Have you seen the (new OSSA) trials bike?
http://www.gasgasrider.org/forum/sho...highlight=ossa
Not exactly like the Hoosaberg, but, reverse head and tilted cyl. 2 stroke.
Pretty trick to look at. Wonder how it will work in the real world.
Like the (side-valve) GasGas 4-stroke trials bike. Looked great in the
video, but, that was the last I have seen of it.
Jeff, So Cal GasGas fan.

I also have heard that husaberg is not the only one coming out with FI on 2T for 2011/2012. Should show a lot of improvements on the 2T side of things.

I wish GG would get on board PDQ with this also.

"I'd call it sensible thinking. Gas Gas should hire you." roostafish

now thats wishful thinking.
but seriously, if they put out a full production bike with an engine like that, even carbureted, it would still be a game changer, and it would still be cool. and mine is the only gasgas that i have ever seen, though i havnt been around much and its hard to see a little red or blue or yellow in the sea of orange at the few races i have been to.
