2015 gasgas ec 200 for track use?
hi guys,
i may try my 2015 ec 200 for track. what would you advise on changing. can i get a reasonable setting on the clickers to change from enduro setting to more oreinted for track use? front is marzocchi 48mm forks and rear has the Reiger shock (with the purple piggy bag). i'm just an average track rider, don't jump extreme tabletops. i weigh 80-85kg all geared up. everything is stock. jetting is the following : PJ 42 MJ175 and needle is CDM at clip#3. sealevel and around 15 deg Celcius. lots of different questions for different topics, that's why i posted in general topics. cheers, hannes. |

Track as in MX track?
I have done a few MX trainings with my 2015 EC200, the latest one yesterday. I am a less than average MX rider, I don't even jump the small table tops What I do to "convert" it for mx: Forks: - I turn the PFP adjusters 5-6 turns in. This may seem much, please be aware that I have softer PFP springs than normal. Under normal circumstances, I run the PFP adjusters all the way out. - I add compression damping. Go from 15-18 clicks (enduro) to 1-3 for MX. Rear Reiger: I have a reiger B46, a very fancy shock. At my speed, I don't change any clicks. With your standard Reiger, I would turn the compression damping quite a few clicks in. You just have to try to find the best solution. I do nothing to the engine or jetting. I you would like a more "MX feeling", you could of course adjust the power valve for a bigger hit. I also replace the rear wheel with a 19" with a Gibson sand tyre, because the local track is a sand track. A half worn Michelin Enduro Medium proved to be of little use there I had a 19" rear wheel laying around, so I figured I could use that for something useful.

so today was trackday.
all went super well, no problems whatsoever. fork settings, compression 6 from fully in, rebound about the same. rear compression maximum, rebound about 10-12 clicks from fully in. forks were bottoming out about 95% ,mayb e i'll add some oil in each fork to make a smaller airchamber. steering was a bit twitchy but got resolved mostly with slower rebound on the forks. jetting was left alone, and even noticed it was harder to start since it sounded richer then usual (temps went up from when i jetted it nice and crisp) so better richer then too poor. will definately go out for some more tracks on the 200 |

one more thing, i'd like to change the power, to make it rev higher.
it's got it's power from very down low but doesn't really like to rev to the moon like a 125 (wich it never will) but i feel there's more. to change the powervalve, i have this aluminium nut that covers the adjustment for the powervalve. do i loosen the 10mm nut and then turn the very small hex screw in or out and retighten? how far do/can i go? can the mechanism get dislodged if i mess with it too far? i just want to see what's more to be had on this great little engine. thanks,Hannes. |

I have never adjusted it myself, but I think you are right. There is a description in the user's manual, page 79
