Default frame chassis engine interchange years

I know I've read it on here somewhere....

what years between say 1999-present will the engines interchange?
Is it just lower end changes? Topend/ cylinder swap for all these years?

how about swingarms?

rear shocks?

triple clamps?

Direct engine swaps: '99 - '04, '05 - present

Top ends: '99 - present

Swingarms: '99 - present

Shocks: There were some slight length changes in the '00 to '07 years along with frame changes, but the mounts are the same from '99 - '11.

Triple Clamps: All WP43/Zoke 45 SHOULD be the same. Bores for sure, but I have not personally checked offsets. This would go from '00 (XCs only with WP43s) to '11 (45 Zokes). I'm pretty sure the 48mm Sachs and Zoke 48s use the same clamps as well.

Thanks Glenn,
That's exactly what I needed

Seeing all the transformation builds got me thinking of building up a 2002 or older bike to get a green sticker reg. to ride year round

I have a 02 EC 200 and a 03 MC 250 and the swingarm pivot is smaller on the 200 than the 250

That's right, but its just the bearing sleeves that are different and swing arm casting the same. Same goes for the front wheels from the WPs to the Zokes and different size axels, bearing and spacer size only.

not that i want to hijack your thread, but i'm thinking about putting my '01 ec 200 engine in an ec 250/300 '08 frame, how would that fit, what would i need to adjust?

ciao, Hannes.

Some how you would have to make the swingarm pivot holes on the frame smaller. Like I said before my 02 pivot bolt is smaller than my 03.

if it's decreasing the diameter, it could be done with some (brass) bushes, right?
so most of the problems are with the axle thrue the swingarm and frame?
and probably reweld some engine mounts?
