Default E-start and subframe kit, any experience out there?

Just was on another gnarly ride and had a few hills that really got me thinking about that friggin button. I know gofasters has the kit available with the subframe and Bendix for the estart and wiring, has anyone purchased it yet and added it? Was thinking about buying the whole issue

When buying it, change the hole for thee bendix and put a bearing bushing or needle bearing in. Works much better and it is muchore reliable.

Can you clarify by what you mean when you say "change the hole for the Bendix".

Thanks

Has anyone ever modified the stock sub frame to accommodate the battery or a small lithium ion? If got access to good tig welders and what have you

In the cover where the bendix is located is only a hole in the aluminum. I changed already an 3 e-starts and it works. 2 I made with bushings and 1 with a needle bearing.

He's referring to the blind hole in the flywheel cover. The bottom end of the bendix shaft runs in this hole. If you pull the cover twice a year and make sure it's well greased you won't have any trouble.

If your bike is jetted well, the engine barely has to turn to start. That means the starter spends only a bit of time running. The plain bore of the cover will last for a long time if it's greased.

Adding a bushing or needle bearing is still a good idea and worthwhile for someone who rides in wet conditions all the time. If the shaft rusts, it will wear out the hole.

Ok boys I bought the kit from mark today at gofasters, I'm going to mod my subframe to accommodate a lighter smaller shorai battery so I'll keep you all posted. Soon she will be an estart Nambo with a full rekluse manual clutch

Has anyone tried making a bracket to strap a small shorai under the seat instead of taking up all that room in the airbox? I just picked up the shorai and it's tiny and fits quite perfect in the underside of the seat over top the airbox
