2015 300e

Laid eyes on a 300E today. Dealer just got it in. Man what a gorgeous bike. Also, weighed it to compare to my 2012 300R (kicker). Same scale, empty tanks and the lbs. were a push. However, assume 12 lbs for battery and starter hardware on this 300E, then the '15 300R should come in 12 lbs less than a '12 300R. If Dirt Bike's scale was right in 2012 at 245 lbs for a 300R then the '15 300R will come in in the low 230's which is respectable. The '15 300E @ + 12 lbs would weight mid 240's dry if all my arithmetic is right. KTM's on a comparable basis with a few odds and ends added would still be 10 - 15 lbs less but........progress. Other than weight reduction the only other thing that jumped out was lack of a spark arrestor. Looks like have gone to Powercore vs Q Stealth. Pretty bike though...
