Default Fisher seat modification review

Initial impression "wow"

Mr. Fisher is very involved in the product, calling my multiple times and making the effort to look my bike up on the internet even though I sent him a picture.

I gave him creative license in near every regard, but speaking with him I did choose his midline gripper texture for the top, low line for the sides, and conventional on the bottom.

The seams are perfect, I cannot stretch or pull them. The vinyl is I would approximate twice as thick as original, which is VERY thin, he did send the old cover back. I chose to have him build an entire cover due to tears in mine, I had recently just put a small cut in the top gripper section by merely missing a bit getting a leg over the bike with my boot.

I can't speak for older models, but the my 2011 had long splits on the seat cover at the knees, figured wear, but Fisher told me there was very sharp flashing at the seat base at that location, and I can see with the cover removed that it also was split at the rear in front of the intake ports, and some bad witness marks up along the centers where it certainly would have split in the future. Naturally he filed and rounded these before installing the new cover.

I will offer a long term report as I put some hours on it, currently riding around the yard works very well, no hinderance, I can feel the wings a bit at extreme movement, but otherwise nothing. I actually feel I have a better grip across the knees with this seat as there is just flat more to grab.

I don't beleive there will be any issue, but after review I will suggest to Fisher to add a double thickness at the seat bolt, or perhaps some rubber part like he makes his badge out of to provide a more durable pinch. I would also widen the front packet perhaps 1 inch on each side, he did an excellent job matching the angles but I don't think an extra inch up to the bill of the seat would hurt at all, and may help?
