Question Plastics

I'm looking for a new rear fender for my '09 EC300. What are my options? All I've found so far is black or blue, sans decals, for $52 at GoFasters.

Put the rear on from a 10 or an 11. Much nicer side number plates. And they come in white.

Polisport, who make the stock plastic, make kits in red, black, blue and white.
GoFasters should be able to supply all the colours, call or email them to see if they can help you.

I do agree - the new plastics are nice, but it requires fitting the newer style airbox. I'm not sure how much that costs, but I'm sure it's not cheap.

No, my 07' had 10' plastics on it. It is a direct fit.

Everything except the rear fender is, the airbox got slimmer in 2010 to accomodate the slimmer number board/fender. So yes, technically the 2010 fender will fit, but you will leave a portion of the airbox uncovered.

I believe you need part 15 from here.
Which is listed at $25.37.

The airbox is 2 pieces, you only need the rear part.

Ah, yes you are right. Forgot about the rear boot being replaced.

Cool

Oh really!? Just that rear part (part #15, $25.37)?
Hm. I wonder if switching to the new style plastics will give me more options for where to get them. So far all I've found for an 07-09 rear fender is black or blue (with no decals) from GoFasters for $52.

I jumped from Husky to Gas Gas just about the time that many of the on-line retailers started stocking Husky parts

I think so, the airbox isn't really a box, more the front part which holds the air boot, and then the rear part which is riveted to it, then the triangular black airbox panels give it sides. So you could get both 14 and 15, but then you have to mess around with getting the airboot on, which in my experience is not easy.

I'd just pull all the panels off, leaving only the airbox bits on the subframe, and see how difficult it would be to R&R the rear portion.

Again, it may just be easier to contact GoFasters, and see what they say about.
