Swingarm & Linkage Bearings
Hi!
Is there anyone that know where i can find the dimension of all the berings and bushing for the swingarm, linkage and lower shock? I have a GasGas MC250 2003. I would realy appreciate this, mine are total disaster. Thanks in advance!

I've used AllBalls in the past & personally I think they are not the best bearing, they work & fit but I believe quality isn't the best, (may be Chinese made)
Pivot Works have been my choice as of late Swing arm kit is # PWSAK-G01-001 @ $69.95, linkage kit is #PWLK-G03-000 @ $89.95, Shock kit is #PWSHK-G01-001 @ $19.95. They also have wheel bearing kits as well as steering stem bearing kits for GG I visited with the PW rep at a dealer show last year and- as long as you properly install a bearing they offer life time warranty on the kit. I have a customer who has claimed a warranty on a set of wheel bearing on a 2002 CR250 Honda, he had zero issues with them replacing the set. In my opinion as well as his the bearings didn't fail because of a poor bearing, he ran a nasty, muddy 80 mile enduro, they still replaced with no questions. If I remember correctly warranty is limited to 1 set per retail purchase but that makes them 1/2 price if you have to call the warranty. I know this doesn't answer the original but may be simpler than sourcing each bearing

Hulle - I don't know the cross-overs or if the information will apply, but it might be worth the time to read this thread: http://www.gasgasrider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=4452 Lots of information in there about the bearings. |

Thanks for the information, i will take the berings out and let my local SKF dealer measure them, and then use o-ring as seals.

I just completed a complete rebuild of my suspension linkage. I converted over to the "O" rings as well. Super easy, just make sure you clean out all the grease out of the area when the "o"ring is goes.

All balls and other sets are sourced from China and packed to look good. Therefore low quality. Tested.
Bushings should be tempered and honed to precise tolerance. Not in China case. I too overhauled all rear suspension, but swingarm and linkage being OK, i just regreased and put together. Orings already there, so just replaced those with new. I did take note of the swingarm bearings numbers, koyo, 28 x 22 x 16. Need 6 pcs. Linkage bearings at least look the same, but not sure. (I think another 6 pcs needed) Orings are the same for swingarm and linkage, ID22 x 3.5. You need a total of 10 pcs. Shock needs upper spherical bearing 12 x 26 x 16, found in better local stores. Test it by keeping the shock bolted only in top, and try rocking it up/down. Mine looked Ok, when I tried it with hand on the removed shock, but had play when shock was installed. I can't help on the lower bearing, as I threw it away. Its a needle type, ID 16. Standard for sure. If lower b. is toast, the bushing inside is toast also. Its 10 x 16 x 21. Not standard. Managed to find 12 x 16 x 22. Ground off 1mm, to make it 21. Also the store had compensating bushings, so I press fitted two 10 x 12 x 10 inside. This made all work great. Zero play. |

What is the depth of the barings from the leading edge of the linkage? just for future reference .it a tapered edge as far as I remember. .

this is also a question i have asked, especially for the linkage parts that have two bearings and a gap between, never sure how much (if at all) the o-ring needs to protrude to make a proper seal without causing too much friction on the linkage
