1998 MC250 Help
Hello I have a 98 Mc 250. It?s a 3 speed i have been trying to find som information about the bike as I?ve heard rumors that there were minimal sent to the USA and I?m also trying to find crank bearings and seals. Does anybody know what bearings and seals this bike takes it?s next for a resto and I can?t seem to locate anything about it. Thanks

Give the folks at Matto Cycle a call. (570) 429-0678
They helped me get all the parts to rebuild the bottom end of my 1998 EC250. I would assume the crank, seals etc... are the same. I also have a .pdf of the parts diagram and numbers for the 1998 GasGas motor. Send me an email address and I will forward you the file. Steve Marolda from MotoWest (714) 562-3234 used to sell and work on the GasGas MC and EC bikes. He might be a resource for information. He no longer sells GG bikes, but, might do work on them. Jim Cook, Smackover Motorsports, also out of business, is an old time GasGas guy. He still posts here from time to time. I think I remember the MC250 was a 4 speed? Good luck. Jeff |

Hello Jeff thank you very much for the response. My email is powerstroke142@gmail.com. I grew up with a family friend he bought the 1998 EC250 that was at the local dealer and rode with us for a good 10 years so when I saw this 98 I had to have it! I?m finishing a 02 cr125 build and the gas gas is next on the list. I?d greatly appreciate any information or diagrams thanks so much sincerely Zach

I thought the mc250 came as a 4 speed? Something wrong with your shift drum?
I don't know of anyone who would make plastics for the 1998... jeff

info sent to Zach
*I can check the # on the crank bearings I have if that helps. *If you are doing a rebuild of the motor. Might as well do everything. Rod, piston, water pump seals and all the bearings. *I think I spent around $600 for all the parts and gasket kits. Feel free to ask Q's: I'll answer if I can. I also don't know where you could find original plastics. Fenders and rear side panels are Kawasaki KX. It's the radiator shrouds that are unique to the GG. I also have black plastics on my GG. I think I sold the red/pink plastics years ago to a guy named Tom. I might still have something. cheers, Jeff |
