Default BIB Vs. Tubes

Guys how long will a BIB last in my rear tire. I have heard that you have to keep them lubed up. I had a pinch flat at a race last year and don't want the same thing this year. And how hard are they to install? Do I need special tire tolls or just the regular tire irons?

Thanks,
Boom
