Is there an easy way to remove the rear shock?
or do I have to remove the complete rear subframe?
2011 EC300. it almost looks like it has to come out the right side after removing the airbox? thanks Rob |

Remove pipe.
Place bike on stand Remove one dog bone link bolt.Let link hang down. Remove both shock bolts. Raise swing arm. Lower shock through the left side of swing arm. Pull shock through right side of bike. How come you're pulling the shock off? |

That's nice. If that works it will literally save an hour or more.

1) they have nothing on KTM on the side panels...plastic screws, really? the head came right off one without the screw coming out. 2) plastic adjuster ring for spring, really, steel or aluminum was too heavy? I could barely get the tool to bite on the slots to remove it. Is there a metallic replacement? 3) factory spring seems to have a smaller OD than the replacement Les T installed. He added some type of inserts into the end so that there is a flat surface for the spring to ride on both ends, did the factory setup? am I missing some bits. G, why, I wanted to try the stock 5.2 spring. I just seem to ride better with a soft setup on the back. On the KTM with the 8.0 rear, Greg and Phillip just thrashed me, put on a 7.6 and next weekend I was keeping up. I know the numbers don't work out, but I think the results say otherwise. I surely didn't get better in one week |

The trick is to raise the swing arm up high enough for the shock to drop through. |

I have the shock back on, going to try and adjust sag while all the bits are off so that I can adjust it without screwing up the plastic ring. Did you ride today? I need to get a picture of my arms from clearing yesterday, I must be allergic to something out there. May I call you later or tomorrow? |

I am giving up on you Rob. I told you to call me and I would come over and show you how to do it. Older bikes were different.
