If production is in Dec. when do you think the 250's will make it here? I was hoping to have a bike for round 2 and 3 of NEPG series. I'm bikeless right now.

250s prolly won't be here until February. Sorry they're late. I know we're missing some sales due to the late production date.

Clay,

Maybe you can answer this? Why is it that Gas Gas has been changing the looks and style of there bikes more recently now? Unlike other manufacturers that pick a style and usually stick with it for quite awhile. It would seem to me that if you change all the time nobody will recognize your bike right away.

I agree, brand recognition does not seem to be on the GasGas list of high priorities. In the last 10 years they have been yellow blue red black & white and six days flag colors. Personally I like the color changes but if I'm watching a YouTube video some times I have to pause and have a close look to pick out the GasGas riders. There's no question about the pumpkins or the Kaws.

I'm not sure what the original owners of GG had in mind when they made the bikes different colors but I think there has been some consistency in 11 and 12. The bikes will continue to be red (with the exception of Six Days models which will have the country colors). The 12 frame change was needed for a lot of reasons (cleaning up the multiple fastener problem, inboard break pedal, new subframe with enclosed battery container) and I'm sure they will stay with that look for sometime. They put a lot of effort into the 12 image and were pretty proud of it when we were over there in May.

Hi Clay, I realize these are early pics and info of the 2012 bikes. I notice wide flat frame spars at the bikes sides.

Any Idea if the production bikes will come with frame guards to protect that perty red paint from our boots. Or will we have to wait for the aftermarket.

Curious, cause if one of those ends up in my garage I won't be able to wait to ride it till frame guards are offered!

Later pictures of the Race bikes show a plastic guard on the frame rails - I'll take your order now

It looks like they will have the same guards that the Nambo and Cervantes have, which is a pretty cool plastic guard. Honestly, that is a detail I overlooked when I specd our bike.

All the picks of the 12 prototype I'd seen have shown no boot frame guards so I was a bit concerned. But twowheels has seen other pics with guards so thats good news to me. Gas Gas is probably just showing off the new frames curves.

Gas Gas has always offered boot guards since they started painting the frames after the nickel plated frame days. I may be in the minority but think they are a nice touch and help keep the machine looking nice. I've rode kawi's in the past and remember the thick stickers that were supposed to save the perimeter frames paint, ya right.
