Default This thing rips!

Finally got the bike out and rode it with the new setup.

Initially had an off idle hesitation, but the temperature has dropped dramatically down here in Texas. We rode at about 44 degrees F.
Some adjustment with the air screw cleaned that up for the most part.

It was a few miles back in on the trail before I was able to really feel the
change in the midrange. This thing is a beast - very snappy. Just looking
at the clutch lights the bike up. A little further and I hit 4th gear and opened
it up. Holy crap - it revs to the moon!

I'm shocked at how this slide/needle/pipe/silencer combo has changed the character of my bike so much - it has really awoken the slumbering giant.
On the way back to the parking area we were on a fire road - I grabbed a handful of throttle in 4th gear, the bike came on the pipe and lifted the front wheel off the ground!

I can't say enough about this setup. Strongly considering a Lectron now as Richard from HoH says it's another important piece in the puzzle. I'm of the opinion that he knows what he is talking about when it comes to these bikes.

This is definitely on my shopping list for the old gasser. I've got the jetting pretty much dialed but the bike just doesn't have the get up and go I expected from 300cc. Sounds unruly.

I knew you would love it! The top end is unreal on that pipe. The metering rod carbs make me nervous. I watch my buddies fiddling with theirs all the time. They have welded O2 sensors in their pipes and all kinds of crap. One friend has one on a 200 KTM and he will tell you it's the greatest thing ever but, every time we ride he has to spare starting fluid in it to get it started! Lol I really don't see much gains other than maybe some better fuel mileage. Just my .02

I'm definitely going to have the head modded as the next step before I consider a Lectron.

Your friends' horror stories scare me!

Have anyone put a stock bike and then HoHp kit to the dyno?

I am going to do that next spring to see the difference.

I've recently fitted the lectron and I have mixed feelings about it, the keihin carb would let the bike start first kick every time, I've found I when I leave the bike for a week or so the lectron can take a bit of time to get running, but after that it's not a problem.

The bike really does pull harder low down and there is no hesitation, feels like it's fuel injected bike, it had a bit of a flat spot coming onto the pipe but with a bit of adjustment we improved it

The black line was the first run and red was after the adjustment

Mine is the same. You have to kick it a few times if it hasn't been run for a while. But I don't consider it a big problem.

My kit has arrived to Finnish customs. But I can't get it out of there cause Richard hasn't sent me the receipt we talked about.

He doesn't answer emails either? Does anyone knows whats going on there or does anyone know him personally that could remind him about it?

He mentioned something about moving...?

Big problem is that in a week customs send it back if I cant cash it out

I understand your frustration. Here in Norway, the customs usually will accept a copy of the receipt of your payment. So if you paid e.g. by PayPal or thru your bank, sending the customs a copy of your payment details usually is good enough.
