it's easy to shorten a bike. Suspension by Jake did it to a buddy of mines yz 125. Shortened the shock and forks an inch in a half. Then he cut an inch in a half off the seat for total of 3 inches shorter. It is so much fun to ride it's like riding a bicycle now.

I agree the 200 would be the best choice for a shorter ride. The e-start option would also be a hit with most riders and the 200 would allow that too. I would keep it simple with only internal fork, shock, and seat mods. All stuff that can be reversed /changed as the folks grow or kept that way for the older farts like me that finished growing at a younger age LOL.

It's getting time to really think about a move. I thought I read somewhere on here the 200 uses the same platform as the 250 & 300. Can anyone verify this? If so, not much of a weight difference then from a 200 to 300? I was thinking in the pumpkin patch the 125/150/200 were on a separate platform than the 250/300.

Correct Steve. The 200 is the same size/weight of the 250-300.

The new bikes are bigger, and you would not want to start with that platform for a 150 IMO. They really need to put the 200 and any smaller motor in a new smaller frame. Actually they should design a new 125/150/200 motor as well.

to switch the "old" motor to a 150cc you have to modify the whole motor.
Also the crank bearings are not strong enough to resist the higher power, therefore you need to mill the housing and put a distance ring on the crank.
Du to some failures my dealer made when I bought the bike, I am reworking it right now completly.
