Pretty much that same mate when I checked it when doing the jetting initially, I only ever change it when I do a top end and never really look at it until then.
I only need to change the pilot to a 42 and tweak the air screw in winter.

Good to know, I have a 42 here but found it abit blubbery when I tried it last year during winter. It's there if I need it though

Forget jetting by plug colour. It's a road race tool that only tells you main jet and only if done under controlled test. Just pulling the plug out and looking at it is only going to tell you something might need changing, maybe. Or that it looks like you should change it. Or that it should be in the bike for it to run.

N1EF and #7 slide in 2nd clip too rich for my riding style in hilly tight rocky Missouri. I could foul plugs easily off idle when cold.
------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bike year & model = 2018 XC300 Temperature (degF) =55F 13C Elevation (feet) =960 Main jet = 175 (stock) Pilot jet =42 (stock) Needle & notch =N1EG 2nd Air screw setting =1 5/8 out Throttle valve/slide = #8 Results: Using Motorex Cross Power 40:1 95 octane unleaded. No plug fouling very predictable linear power no dips no hits. Great idle easy start. Curious to see how she works at 100F 38C hope to stay with a "G" needle. I love this bike! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last edited by ricar116; 03-02-2020 at 02:21 PM. Reason: Added thought |

Hello, some of you have try the NECW needle?
Here in Spain it is very famous. I have a 48, 172 and NECW and the bike is very very smooth and progressive in the low rpm. Sorry for my english, I am Spanish hahhaha |

Jose, what bike and year? 250? 300? You run a 48 pilot? Which clip position (from top) is the NECW?

Rode the bike again this weekend just gone, this time in the bush. Same jetting as the mx track. Bike felt strong everywhere, PV adjustment worked really well for the bush.
Did a quick fuel drain out to see what consumption was like. Did 49.5km and consumed 4.5l of fuel, absolutely stoked with this consumption. It means 100km loops are possible if needs be. Riding again this weekend, hopefully I'll do another fuel consumption test and see where I'm at. 2018 EC300 MJ: 175 PJ: 40 AS: 1.5 NEDW: #2 |

I wonder why the fu*k I can get all my mates bikes right just struggle with me own one. Bloody hell! 20? C, 300 EC 2019 MJ: 180 PJ: 42 AS: 2 JD-RED: #3 Consumption was 3,75 liters for 29,7km in easy terrain, but only gears 1 to 3. That's too high. My previous bike at the same track with same jetting would have used 2,75 liters. Yes, my float height is right and the bike didn't spill any fuel, I also have the overflow hose looped acc. JD's recommendation... I wonder if the smaller PJ 40 would help but fear to get the bloody lean hang after steep climbs |
